A Celebration at Upcote Barn

A three-course meal was served in the main Barn, and speeches were delivered. Lizzie had lost her dad a short while before the wedding, which made it extra emotional. Wonderful tributes were given to her late father, who was beautifully honoured.

Once the cake was cut, guests headed back out into the Barn at Upcote’s courtyard for more drinks and games before the first dance took place in one of the smaller barns. 

As the sun began to set, Lizzie, Mike and I headed up to The Barn at Upcote’s drive where we took a stroll and captured some truly stunning golden hour photographs. 

The Barn at Upcote is a gorgeous venue in the heart of the Cotswolds, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The venue offers exclusive use of its beautifully restored barn and ground. The venue is licensed for marriages, allowing couples to exchange vows in the Threshing Barn or outdoors on the central courtyard lawn, surrounded by rolling fields and woodlands. With its rustic Cotswolds character, the Barn at Upcote is the perfect spot for a countryside celebration.

The Barn at Upcote can host up to 100 guests. There are several beautiful spaces, including the Grain Store, The Threshing Barn, and the Cart Lodge. The beautifully landscaped secret garden, tranquil Coln River, and surrounding fields and woodlands provide stunning backdrops for photos. The dedicated wedding coordinator team are fabulous, and Upcote Barn has several recommended caterers to choose from too.

The Hay Barn honeymoon suite is a 1-bedroom retreat for newlyweds. There are three on-site camping pods and additional space for tents and campervans. The Barn at Upcote is also pet-friendly, allowing you to include furry friends in your celebration. The Barn at Upcote has a no-corkage policy, which is a fabulous money-saver.

Conveniently located near Cirencester, Withington, Andoversford, and Northleach (all of which have accommodation options for guests), The Barn at Upcote is easily accessible alongside its rural, countryside feel.
