“We haven’t stopped crying

at how beautiful our photos are”

“Becky, I don’t know what to say – we’re completely astounded by these pictures. I’m currently trying to fathom how it’s possible to have 750 stunning shots and almost wish there were 5x as many because they’re SO GOOD.

You have really outdone yourself. We’re totally blown away by how you’ve both perfectly captured our love, laughter, our families, our friends, and all of their mad personalities.

There are just so many iconic moments.

We can’t thank you enough. We LOVE them.”

Gloucestershire Weddings

There are some incredible wedding venues in the county, including Eastington Park, Clearwell Castle, Elmore Court and Owlpen Manor. One of my first ever weddings took place in the grounds of Sudeley Castle. Meanwhile Berkeley Castle remains firmly on my wedding venue bucket list!

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings in Gloucestershire is the abundant nature. I love to use landscapes, greenery, and other natural elements in the background of my images. I also love a Cotswolds stone-cottage or a pretty, quintessentially English village (my favourites being Bourton-on-the-water and Chipping Campden). I love to shoot wide open at golden hour and use sunflare through foliage or trees to create beautiful bokeh to backlight my subjects. This is particularly beautiful on a longer lens and my 85mm creates stunning separation between my subject and the background.

My favourite way to capture your family photographs is to set up my tripod with my camera and an 85mm lens, using a shallow depth of field and creating separation between my subjects and a stunning backdrop. This really makes your wedding guests pop, and is so appealing to the eye. Using a tripod enables me to keep my camera composition static, meaning all your group photographs will be composed the same, which looks beautiful in wedding albums. If necessary, I will light my subjects using off camera flash for a little extra pop.

The beautiful county of Herefordshire

Gloucestershire is a beautiful, largely rural county. Bordered by Herefordshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Monmouthshire, with good transport links to Birmingham, London and the South West of England. It is therefore unsurprising that Gloucestershire is a popular county to get married.

Gloucestershire boasts three beautiful districts, including a large proportion of the Cotswolds, The Forest of Dean and Severn Vale. There are no large cities within Gloucestershire, though parts of North Bristol do sit within the South Gloucestershire region. There are lots of pretty towns to visit, including Cheltenham Spa, Stroud, Tewkesbury, Cirencester and Yate.

Some of my favourite places to take a stroll and photograph my own loved-ones are the Forest of Dean (where my daughter enjoys trying to spot wild boar! So far ,we’ve only ever found Gloucestershire Old Spots!) and Daffodil Way in Leadon Valley. We also love to visit the Wild Fowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge. I was actually born in Gloucester itself and always have an affinity to the city.

Getting Married in Gloucestershire

Geographically, Gloucestershire is a fabulous location to get married as it has excellent transport links to anywhere across the UK.

Often my clients’ wedding guests are scattered around the UK, and so often choosing somewhere central to host a wedding is important to brides and grooms.

Gloucestershire registrars are some of the nicest I’ve come across too. They have a relaxed approach to nuptials and keep your wedding ceremony simple but informal, around the usual traditions of exchanging rings, vows and the signing of the register.

Capturing my favourite
wedding moments

If I had to choose one single moment which was my favourite to capture it would be the confetti toss. You can’t beat the unadulterated joy of welcoming newly-weds into their new lives together. Wedding guests and my clients are always happy and joyful, add in some brightly coloured confetti and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a gorgeous wedding photo.

I also love to shoot speeches. This is often the time I really get to know special little details about my clients, and I truly love to hear all the little personal details. It really helps me capture you, authentically.

There’s also a beautiful (and often apprehensive!) moment just as the bride is being walked down the aisle. There’s the will-he-or-wont-he-cry moment and often guests get very emotional at this point too.
