Joyful and Relaxed wedding stories

Relaxed and Joyful Cheltenham wedding photography for couples who want
a documentary style alongside
beautiful portraits

Do you want photographs showing real emotion, which will take you back to how you felt on your wedding day?

I love epic party photos, so I’ll be on the dance floor, capturing all the antics.

Cheltenham is home to somestunning wedding venues. It has elegant Regency architecture, pretty tree-lined promenades and beautifully manicured gardens, the town is a fabulous backdrop for wedding photography. Venues such as Ellenborough Park, Hyde House and The Barn at Upcote are some of the venues that Cheltenham has to offer.

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings in Cheltenham is the architecture. Those beautiful white Regency terraces and ironwork balconies make just gorgeous backdrops — especially in the golden light of early evening. I love to shoot wide open at golden hour, using sunflare and the natural dappled light through Cheltenham’s beautiful avenues of mature trees to create gorgeous bokeh behind my subjects.

My favourite way to capture your group photographs is to set up my tripod with my camera and an 85mm lens, using a shallow depth of field to create beautiful separation between my subjects and a stunning Cheltenham backdrop. This makes your wedding guests really pop, and makes these photographs so beautiful. Using a tripod keeps my compositions consistent, giving them that extra wow-factor in your wedding album. Where needed, I’ll use off-camera flash to give my subjects a little extra pop.

“THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE AMAZING.

So, so grateful”

“we haven’t stopped crying.
thank you, Becky”

Photography in Cheltenham

Working as a photographer in Cheltenham means working with some of the most beautiful and distinctive backdrops in the country. From the striking Promenade to the bustling charm of Montpellier. From the manicured lawns of Pittville Park to the Cotswold hills just beyond the town, I’m so blessed to work in such a photogenic area.

As a Cheltenham wedding photographer, I focus on capturing real moments as they unfold — quietly and unobtrusively, so you can fully enjoy your day.

The soft light filtering through Cheltenham’s famous avenues of mature trees, the warm stone tones of the nearby Cotswolds, and the elegant Regency architecture all combine to provide a stunning backdrop for both candid documentary images and beautiful portraits.

I love to use the setting sun to create bokeh against a backdrop of trees, using a shallow depth of field and a telephoto lens to really make my subject shine. I have photographed at a range of Cheltenham and nearby venues and would love to add your wedding to my portfolio!

The beautiful Spa Town of Cheltenham

Cheltenham is one of the most complete Regency towns in England — and one of the most elegant places in the country to get married. Nestled at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment, it is a wonderful place to be based when wanting to explore the wider Cotswolds area.

Known for its wide, leafy boulevards, Cheltenham is a town of festivals and culture. It hosts the world-famous Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Jazz Festival, and the Cheltenham Gold Cup — one of the most prestigious events in the horse racing calendar. The town has a wonderful cosmopolitan feel, with a selection of independent restaurants, boutique shops and beautiful green spaces such as Montpellier Gardens and Pittville Park.

Cheltenham sits right on the doorstep of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, meaning there are endless opportunities for breathtaking portrait locations — from honeyed stone villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water or Winchcombe, to hills, farmland and woodland.

Choosing Cheltenham for your Celebration

Cheltenham sits just inside the northern edge of Gloucestershire. It is one of Gloucestershire’s most beloved destinations and draws visitors from across the country.

The town’s Regency heritage is visible at every turn — from the Promenade, lined with shops and Neptune’s Fountain, to the Holst Birthplace Museum and the Cheltenham Minster. Pittville Park, with its beautiful boating lake and the stunning Grade I listed Pittville Pump Room, is one of the most photogenic spots in the area and a personal favourite of mine for couple portraits.

Cheltenham also acts as a wonderful gateway to the wider Cotswolds. Within just a short drive you can reach the honey-coloured stone villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford and Chipping Campden — all offering extraordinary scenery for adventurous couples wanting some some classic Cotswolds portrait locations.

The town itself has a vibrant, welcoming community feel and a well-deserved reputation as one of the most desirable places to live and celebrate in the South West.
