Capturing your family in Herefordshire

Hi, I’m Becky and I’m a Herefordshire Family Photographer.

My style is relaxed and informal, with a love of the great outdoors. I believe that family photos should be fun, relaxed and happy and not cause you or your little ones stress or anxiety.

My approach is to let you and your children run and play while I join in, and capture genuine moments of love between you.

I have a warm, friendly personality, and the feedback I get most from clients is how comfortable I make them feel in front of the camera (even when they are totally dreading it!).

I love to advise families on what to wear for their shoot and can give suggestions for some awesome locations too. I have a small client closet from which outfits can be borrowed.

Photographs of your Family to last forever

I lived just outside of Herefordshire near Malvern until I was 3, at which point I moved away for the next 30 years. However, I have always visited Herefordshire as I have lots of extended family scattered about the county. I have ancestors buried in the church at Much Birch and family connections to Yarkhill, Docklow and King’s Caple. I have now recently returned to the area at the beginning of 2024 and am already in love with Herefordshire as a place to live. Herefordians are so friendly, and I am always in awe when I see red-kites, buzzards and kestrels flying overhead on my daily walks. The pace of life is slower here, just what I needed after living in and around Bristol for the last 13 years.

Having returned to Herefordshire at the beginning of 2024, I am already enjoying taking my camera out to take photographs of its beautiful countryside. The river wye is teeming with wildlife. With a telescopic lens and a lot of patience, photographers love to capture it’s natural wonders. Alternatively, take a wider angle lens and tripod to slow shutter speed right down, using a neutral density filter to take some landscapes of the Wye or it’s tributary, the Lugg. We get all sorts of feathered friends visiting our Allensmore garden, and I’ve enjoyed using a shallow depth of field to capture their antics, creating background bokeh. Shooting wide open creates razor sharp images which are especially beautiful at golden hour.

Bordered by Shropshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Powys, Herefordshire is a rural county in the West Midlands of England and a real gem. Famous for its Hereford Cattle, soft fruit and cider production, this beautiful county offers more than just orchards and agriculture. There are two Areas of Outstanding National Beauty including The Malvern Hills and the Northern part of the Wye Valley.  It also boasts the beautiful Black Mountains, including Twyn Llech, the highest point in the county. Steeped in History, Herefordshire has numerous historical attractions including Kilpeck Church, Hereford Cathedral, Goodrich Castle, Eastnor Castle and Croft Castle. Herefordshire is one of the least populated counties in the UK and its clay soils produce well known food brands such as Cadbury chocolate, Tyrrels crisps, and of course cider from Bulmers and Weston’s.
