The BEST Photos from The Barn at Brynich
I’m always thrilled when clients ask me to be their Barn at Brynich wedding photographer. The Barn at Brynich is a fabulous, rustic venue in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. The stunning Welsh countryside location has scenic views across the Bannau Brycheiniog, making a fabulous backdrop for pictures.
The historic Powys venue has been lovingly converted into an event space suitable for picturesque and romantic photographs. The surrounding Brecon landscapes are sure to wow your guests as they arrive.
The Barn at Brynich has a perfect mix of traditional architecture and stunning natural beauty. Making it the perfect backdrop for indoor wedding ceremonies and outdoor, garden celebrations alike. The town of Brecon is less than two miles away, and is often full of visiting walkers, enjoying the scenic landscapes that the Brecon Beacons have to offer.
The mountain views make a perfect background for candid and formal photos alike. I love to use a telephoto lens to separate the subject from the background in formal group photographs. Whilst a wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing scene-setting shots of guests having fun, whilst including the context of the mountain range behind.
The Barn at Brynich is a wonderfully relaxed, informal event space and perfect for those wanting to make a weekend of their celebrations.
I love to capture weddings across Powys, so if you’re planning your wedding, I’d love to hear more about your day.
The Client’s said…
“Becky was the most amazing presence on our wedding day! I genuinely can’t recommend her enough if you’re considering booking her. Her work is just phenomenal and we haven’t stopped crying at how beautiful our photos are. She was calm, perfectly organised and her communication pre and post wedding was the best. Her energy while I was getting ready was exactly what I needed and she made me feel so beautiful with the photos.
I would also absolutely recommend having an engagement or a pre wedding shoot with Becky. We had one and when our wedding day arrived it was like seeing an old friend – Becky had taken away all of the nerves by coaching us during the pre wedding shoot and we felt so comfortable having our photos taken during our wedding.
Thank you for capturing our day so perfectly, Becky! ❤️”

A Day at the Barn at Brynich
When I arrived at the Barn at Brynich, the bride and groom were getting ready. Bronwen with her bridesmaids in one of the larger cottages, and Courtney with his groomsmen, in one of the smaller cottages. Their dog, Narla was fast asleep and oblivious to all the excitement.
Once Bronwen had put her on stunning lace bridal gown and intricate lace veil, she revealed her outfit to her parents and bridesmaids who burst into happy tears at the sight of such a beautiful bride. The groomsmen were by now, greeting guests and ushering them into seats in the barn. The groom stood nervously chatting to registrars as the coordinator assisted the bridal party through the courtyard, ahead of their walk down the aisle.
Courtney couldn’t contain his emotion as he saw his stunning wife-to-be being walked down the aisle with both the mother and father-of-the-bride. Everyone was in tears as the couple were reunited and there wasn’t a dry eye in the barn as the vows were being made and rings exchanged. The couple shared their first kiss after they were pronounced husband and wife and exited back down the aisle once the marriage certificate had been signed.
Guests gathered out in the courtyard and were handed confetti which they joyfully threw over the newly-weds before being guided towards the outdoors drinks reception.
There was time for hugs and congratulations, lawn games and canapes before we captured a handful of family pictures with the Brecon Beacons behind.
As guests were seated for the wedding breakfast back in the barn, the bride, groom and I, and their little dog Narla, took a stroll around the venue’s grounds for some stunning portraits of the three of them. I used a wide lens to capture the stunning background behind and make the most of the magnificent Welsh scenery.
After the three-course meal had been served, an emotional set of speeches were delivered by the groom, best man and bride’s parents. Before long, guests were spilling back outside to enjoy the cooler evening air. The venue staff had lit firepits and there were marshmallows to roast and s’mores to assemble, as evening guests arrived too.
The sun was setting in a clear sky, which meant we were able to make the most of some stunning golden hour light for a few more portraits. I used an 85mm lens to create some stunning sun flare and used the sun behind the couple to create rim light behind them.
As the evening continued, guests were ushered back indoors for the cutting of the cake. A three-tiered ensemble, guests cheered and clapped as the couple cut into it. Then watched as the newly-weds took their first dance. I always use off camera flash to create drama and rim light in dancing photos and barns are perfect for this, as the dark walls mean that all but the subject is in shadow.
After the band’s first set had finished, it was time for me to depart.
I absolutely love working at the Barn at Brynich. It is a stunning venue which epitomises everything I love about my job – a rustic, informal vibe and stunning nature.
