“We can’t believe how

comfortable and relaxed we look and felt”

We couldn’t recommend Becky highly enough, in fact that is exactly what we have been doing to all of our family and friends!

From the outset, I knew we were in great hands. Becky was thorough and attentive, really making an effort to understand our hopes for the feel and atmosphere of our wedding day and how best to capture that in her photographs.

Seeing our photos for the first time was the most wonderful surprise. Becky blended into our day and captured the most magical moments, secret looks, smiles, laughs and a few tears so naturally and unobtrusively that nobody noticed them being taken and we saw so many parts of the day we had missed in the moment.

Becky was one of the few parts of the day I absolutely never worried about, such a lovely feeling for a Bride! I was totally right to be confident, Becky was brilliant, the photos are incredible and we can’t thank her enough.

Powys Weddings

Nestled in the heart of Wales, Powys offers a diverse range of wedding venues. Historic estates like Llangoed Hall provide an elegant setting in Powys’ beautiful scenery.

For those seeking a rustic charm, The Barn at Brynich sits in the shadow of the Bannau Brycheiniog and has stunning views. If you’re looking for Victorian grandeur, Craig-y-Nos Castle can be used as an event space and was once home to the singer Adelina Patti.

Other venues include Glyngynwydd Wedding Barn, Tall John’s House, the Sheepshed and Glanusk Estate.

Powys Celebrations

Located in central Wales, Powys is home to the Cambrian Mountains, Brecon Beacons National Park, and the Elan Valley. The River Severn and River Wye both run through the county and provide ample opportunity for hiking, cycling, and wildlife watching. Powys has several market towns, including Welshpool, Newtown, and Llandrindod Wells, which support the surrounding agricultural communities.

Powys has many castles, including Powis Castle, Clun Castle ruins and Montgomery Castle. Walkers can enjoy Offa’s Dyke Path, that once marked the border between England and Wales, and Powys has many Welsh legends and Celtic traditions, with stone circles and burial mounds scattered across the landscape.

Getting Married in Powys

Powys is perfect for those seeking an outdoors escape, with climbing, kayaking, horse riding, and fishing all being readily available in its beautiful landscapes. The Brecon Beacons are one of my favourite places to visit and attract hikers from across the country.

The Elan Valley reservoirs are a stunning place to visit, especially for those who enjoy landscape photography. There are many rare bird species to be seen at Radnorshire Wildlife Trust reserves, and cyclists can enjoy Glyndŵr’s Way.

The Wonderful County of Powys

Perhaps surprisingly, the rural county of Powys hosts a plethora of festivals. The Hay Festival, held in Hay-on-Wye, is an internationally renowned literary event. Hay-on-Wye is a beautiful small town famous for its bookshops. Craft fairs, food markets, and Eisteddfodau celebrate Welsh art, language, and heritage.

Builth Wells is home to the Royal Welsh Showground, which hosts many events year-round. The Royal Welsh Show takes place every summer and is largely agricultural, and it showcases Welsh music, folk dancing and other Welsh traditions.

The rural nature of the county makes farming an important part of the Powys culture, with sheep and cattle farming dominating the industry there.  With it being a stunning, rural county the county relies heavily on tourism which supports the many small businesses and artisan producers who live there. Powys’ natural beauty attracts visitors year-round, which keeps hotels, guesthouses, and holiday cottages busy.
