ROSS-ON-WYE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
My approach to wedding photography is documentary and natural. Rather than directing or staging moments, I work quietly in the background, allowing the day to unfold as it happens. This works particularly well for weddings in Ross-on-Wye, where couples often prioritise time with their guests, beautiful surroundings, and a day that feels unhurried, informal and personal.
For both intimate, smaller celebrations and larger weddings, my focus is on capturing the atmosphere of the day — the connections, the in-between moments, and the things you might not notice at the time, but will want to capture in a formal that can be kept forever – your Mum holding your granddad’s hand, your dad’s tear as he gives you away, the way your wife looks at your during your speech. These are the moments that truly matter and mean the most.
“THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE AMAZING.
So, so grateful”
“we haven’t stopped crying.
thank you, Becky”
WHY ENGAGED COUPLES CHOOSE ROSS-ON-WYE FOR THEIR WEDDING
Having lived in Herefordshire since 2024, I have photographed and filmed lots of weddings up and down the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and across South Herefordshire. Some of my favourite local venues include Glewstone Court, Caer Llan, Llantilio House, Bredenbury Court Barns and Homme House. Being inspired by nature, I love to capture weddings in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and Ross itself is a very pretty English riverside town. Herefordshire is blessed with many beautiful countryside wedding venues up and down the gorgeous Wales-England border, and so it’s a wonderful place to tie the knot.

Photography in Ross-on-Wye
Ross-on-Wye is a beautiful place for photography in general. With its stunning, 700-year-old Church of England parish Church, St Mary’s, standing tall over the River Wye, looking majestic at dawn golden hour. The River Wye has an abundance of wildlife for those who want to use a telephoto lens to capture native, British wildlife in an AONB. I love to create Bokeh using evening light hitting the trees in the Wye Valley or the Forest of Dean. The restored ruins of Wilton Castle are a great spot to capture portraits of a newly engaged or newly married couple. I like to mix the use of 35mm and 85mm lenses so I can capture close-ups and wide angles of my clients and the beautiful Herefordshire surroundings.
Afterwards, it’s nice to visit the Man of Ross Inn for a post-shoot drink with clients, and shake off the apprehension that being in front of the camera can sometimes create!
As I’m a wedding photographer based predominantly in Herefordshire, I like to visit the market at the Red Sandstone Market House in Ross’ town centre on Thursdays or Saturdays (when I’m not working). Over the summer, Sundays are spent enjoying Ross’ summer concerts at the bandstand, part of the “Bands in the Park Series” which takes place in the afternoons from May to September. In July, a larger event called “Proms in the Park” takes place, which is always a local event with a huge amount of atmosphere and fun.
