The Royal Crescent Hotel Wedding

Bath

Courtney and Jay booked me to be their Royal Crescent Hotel wedding photographer some months before their May elopement. The plan was for them to have a week in Bath with their daughter and their best friends, and to get married at the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa whilst there.

They wanted a wedding photographer who had experience capturing intimate weddings, who knew Bath city and could give them some advice about where would be good for photos. They also wanted an informal, relaxed approach to their wedding photographs, given that their celebration was so intimate.

An intimate micro-wedding

The bride and groom were staying at The Queensberry hotel on nearby Russell Street and were keen to capture a ‘first look’ before some natural photographs of them and their guests walking through the streets of Bath to their wedding.

Jay waited in the lobby for his beautiful bride who looked stunning in a sleeveless A-line wedding dress with white lace and peachy tones. As the couple stepped out onto Russell Street, rain started to spit and so they opened up their umbrellas, linked arms and made their way through the Bath streets towards the Royal Crescent.

The couple were waved at and congratulated by passers-by as they meandered through the beautiful Georgian, Bath-stone streets. The Circus looked particularly magnificent with its stunning curved terraced streets.

Once the couple arrived at the Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa there was some time for some photographs of them and their guests outside the main entrance. We headed in via reception and through to the bar area via a pretty landscaped garden between the hotel buildings.

We captured some portraits of the bride and groom and some group photographs of their guests before they enjoyed a quick drink in the bar ahead of their wedding ceremony.

Before long, the registrars had arrived from the Guildhall and interviewed Courtney and Jay ahead of their nuptials.

The wedding ceremony was simple, elegant and meaningful with the couple saying their ‘I dos’, exchanging rings and being pronounced husband and wife. They signed the register and were welcomed into their newly married life with hugs and congratulatory wishes from their best friends.

After the ceremony the newly-weds and their guests headed back through the hotel’s gardens and were seated for their wedding breakfast in the Montagu Mews restaurant. It was time for me to say goodbye and I gave the bride and groom and big hug before heading home.

The Royal Crescent hotel is a 5 star hotel which sits in the very middle of Bath’s most iconic street. The hotel is in the very middle of a row of 30 terraced houses, in a sweeping crescent overlooking Royal Victoria Park and is Bath’s most iconic landmark. Micro-weddings in Bath city

I regularly shoot micro-weddings in and around the beautiful city of Bath

The city is so beautiful, with its iconic Georgian architecture and beautiful surrounding countryside. It’s a stunning place to get married and attracts couples from all over the UK.

There are lots of local venues offering packages for smaller weddings and you can also tie the knot right in the heart of Bath, at the Guildhall.

My warm, friendly personality and relaxed, informal approach lends itself well to smaller, intimate weddings which are no-fuss and all about the love.
