A Wedding at

Warren Farm, Somerset

I was thrilled with Molly and Dan asked me to be their Warren Farm wedding photographer. I was absolutely blown away by Warren Farm. The website doesn’t give much away and extensive googling didn’t give me a good idea of how amazing the venue was.

The incredible views are TO DIE FOR!  I loved seeing guests enjoy the site as much as the bride and groom, playing team games in the fields, feeding the friendly goats or just taking a stroll to enjoy the scenery.

We were incredibly blessed to have the most spectacular sunset, and the resulting photographs were some of my favourite all time photos up on the Mendip hills.

Below are a handful of my favourite photographs from the day.

The Clients Said…

Becky was amazing from start to finish.

She made us both feel so at ease despite us both being very camera shy and the photos just capture our day so beautifully.

She was calm, respectful, professional and just so lovely throughout the day, it was a joy to have her there!

So many of our guests have commented on how nice she was and how fantastic the album is.

She made the whole process easy and gave us lots of tips in the run up to the day which was super helpful. We’re really over the moon with our wedding photos and are so glad we found her and that she was free!

The candid style suited us perfectly and she has captured some wonderfully raw emotion and pure joy from the day.

Couldn’t recommend her enough, thank you for everything!

A beautiful day for a Wedding

On a sunny and breezy Saturday afternoon, the village of Westbury-sub-Mendip was positively buzzing with excitement. As wedding guests gathered in the pews of St. Lawrence’s Church, the bride was walked down the aisle by her father and Dan looked nervous ahead of her arrival.

The ceremony was a perfect mix of tradition and joy, with vows exchanged under the light streaming through the stained-glass windows. Once the vicar had performed the exchanging of the rings, she pronounced the couple husband and wife. Before the ceremony was concluded, she performed a short hand-fasting ritual whereby the couples hands were tied together and blessings made. With that, the new Mr. and Mrs. walked back down the aisle, hand-in-hand, under a shower of confetti as bells rang out across the usually sleepy village.

From there, the wedding party made their way up the winding lanes to Warren Farm, perched on the Mendip Hills with breathtaking views across the Avon valley. The vast landscape of stunning nature provided the perfect backdrop for a countryside reception. A large marquee had been erected and lovingly decorated by Molly and her family. There were strings of brightly coloured origami birds covering the ceiling and pops of colour in the flowers that had been grown and arranged by the mother-of-the-bride, it was everything you’d want from a Mendip wedding. Guests mingled, clutching glasses of Prosecco or local cider, as they made friends with the farm’s friendly goats and played cricket in the field.

As the evening wore on, speeches began—each more entertaining than the last. The bride’s mum in particular, had prepared a speech that struck the perfect balance of heartfelt and hilarious, sharing a few embarrassing stories about the bride that had everyone in stitches. By the time the speeches were over, the mood was set for the dancing.

The couple opted out of a first dance, but instead chose a traditional folk Ceilidh band, which played out across the valley as guests swung one another round, laughing joyfully.

I could see that the sun was setting in a clear blue sky, so the bride, groom and I ran off for a handful of golden hour photos, as the sun set over the stunning Mendip Hills. I used the setting sun behind the couple to create some stunning golden lens flare and let the couple dance in the light with the views behind, which crated some stunning landscape shots.

The night continued with pizza, cooked in the large on-site pizza oven. Once the Ceilidh had finished a playlist was put on and some truly questionable dance moves ensued.

The bride and her bridesmaids had a tradition of shotting tequila, whilst wearing sombreros and dancing to the famous song by the Champs which was hilarious to witness and capture, especially the bride and groom’s look of disgust at the taste of the spirit!

The stars came out and guests huddled under blankets to keep the chill at bay. Warren Farm was just the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and some epic dancing.  What an incredible day this wedding was!

Warren Farm Wedding Venue

Part of the Feather Down Farm family, Warren Farm is a gem of a wedding venue. Tucked away, high up on the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this Somerset wedding venue had so much to offer. Originally a commercial sheep farm with a small herd of Aberdeen Angus cross cattle, the farm has diversified and now offers luxury glamping for campers and wedding guests alike. There are five canvas lodges, two wooden lodges and several pods available, which can accommodate up to 50 wedding guests for overnight stays. There is also pitch tent camping space too.

The venue is surrounded by nature, perfect for those wanting a country wedding or a festival vibe. There are outstanding views over Cheddar Gorge. Nearby Deerleap is the perfect spot for photos (I’ve photographed many an engagement shoot here), with far reaching views over the Somerset Flats and Glastonbury Tor.

I couldn’t love this incredible venue more. If you’re getting married at Warren Farm and would like to check out my packages, you can do so here.
