Luke and Rachel’s Wedding at Rockbeare Manor, Exeter

Rockbeare Manor was a new venue to me so when Rachel and Luke asked me to shoot their wedding, I was super excited.

It was early September and a warm but cloudy day, the perfect weather for an outdoor wedding – no rain and no risk of overheating either!

Rachel got ready in the beautiful and enormous bridal suite at Rockbeare. A big, striking room with lots of gorgeous natural light streaming in from the balcony windows. Rachel was joined by her lovely Mum, two beautiful bridesmaids, one dashing bridesman and her adorable flower girl, Luke’s daughter. Rachel’s stunning hair was done by the talented Brigitte Fisher and make up by Justine Olver, she donned a fit and flare bridal gown from Wed2Be with an amazing cape, and looked absolutely divine. Rachel’s hair had a touch of florals which matched her exquisite pastel bouquet by Hollyhocks Florist.

Having wondered down the magnificent Rockbeare staircase, Rachel and her Bridal party headed outside and up the aisle where Luke and all the wedding guests were patiently awaiting the beautiful bride’s arrival. The ceremony took place on the terrace, under the archway of the South Pavilion, with a harpist serenading Rachel’s arrival and the September sun popping through the clouds to say hello, with views up towards Dartmoor in the distance, it was absolute paradise.

After canapes and fizz on the lawn, Luke, Rachel and I headed off for their portrait session in the hope to show off the gorgeous couple in all their wedding day glory.

The guests made their way to the Ballroom to sit down for their wedding breakfast, catered for by Rockbeare’s team. After some lovely speeches, even one by chief bridesmaid Emma (girl power!) we all head outside to watch the sun set, have a cup of coffee and play some giant jenga!

Once dusk set in, Rachel and Luke were called back through to the ballroom to cut their cake and have their first dance, before it was time for me to say farewell and bid the happy couple a wonderful future together.

I had such a wonderful time being Rachel and Luke’s Rockbeare Manor Wedding Photographer. An awesome couple, fab venue and an amazing team of suppliers – what more could a girl want?!
