Rockbeare Manor Wedding

Steph and Marco’s Devon Wedding

It;s always a privilege to be a Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer and Steph and Marco’s Rockbeare Manor wedding was one of my favourite Rockbeare weddings to date. After multiple COVID-19 related postponements this lovely couple finally tied the knot over Easter weekend in 2022. The weather was a little changeable which meant guests utilised both inside and outside spaces. Fortunately, the sun decided to show up for golden hour and having had their Just Us shoot, Marco and Steph were pretty confident having their portraits taken. We headed out for 20 minutes for a walk around the gorgeous gardens for some epic silhouettes and golden hour loveliness. By this point, Steph had put on a gorgeous tea-length dress (well, if you’ve got to wait 2 years for your wedding you deserve two dresses, right?!) which flowed beautifully and caught the sunlight as it set behind the couple.

This was one of the loveliest, happiest, most relaxed weddings I’ve shot at Rockbeare manor and I think it shows in the photographs because Steph and Marco are both an absolute picture of joy!

The Clients Said…

Wow, these are brilliant!

Love that you captured my brother in law lobbing confetti at us with such intent!

That silhouette picture is AMAZING!

We had the best day, we weren’t expecting to have as much fun as we did.

You were just perfect for us, thank you!

You can’t fail to be impressed with the manor’s décor. This grade 1 listed Regency country house wedding venue has been recently renovated and refurbished to an exceptional standard. Sitting in 100 acres of parkland but only 7 miles from the centre of Exeter city – it is the perfect Devon wedding venue.

Rockbeare manor has an outstanding reputation for excellent customer service. It is an exclusive-use venue with rooms for yourselves and guests to stay the night after partying the night away. It’s refurbishment is designed with weddings in mind and there is an abundance of backdrops for newly-wed portraits both inside the Manor and outside in the extensive grounds.

There’s no better place to start your wedding day than in the magnificent drawing room on the first floor. This awesome room has enormous mirrors, floor to ceiling windows, and big balcony from which you can wave to wedding guests as they arrive! The chaps can enjoy a game of snooker and add the finishing touches such as ties, cufflinks and buttonholes to their morning suits in the Billiard room.

Once your hair and make-up has finished and your bridesmaids have helped you into your bridal gown, descend the grand staircase and take a moment to catch yourself in the hallway mirror before heading to your wedding ceremony.

Rockbeare offers the choice of an indoor or outdoor civil wedding ceremony; from the Adam-style dining room, the large contemporary ballroom or outside on the terrace and south pavilion.

Reception drinks can be enjoyed outside if the weather’s good guests can play games on the lawn and enjoy views of the Devonshire countryside and Dartmoor beyond. Alternatively –opt for drinks and canapes in on of the manor’s grand reception rooms.

The wedding breakfast will be served in the spacious ballroom, with copious amounts of natural light, views over the parkland and impressive chandeliers, this light and airy room is the perfect place for you and your guests to relax and enjoy.

Shooting Weddings at Rockbeare

I always love being a Rockbeare Manor wedding photographer. I’ve shot multiple weddings at this Devon wedding venue now and I love it!

I can still remember the first time I approached Rockbeare manor up the long driveway, catching glimpses of the manor through the trees as my sense of anticipation built. I was greeted by a pair of impressive while pillars, marking the entrance to the house which leads to an grand and inviting hall.
