I’m always excited when a couple asks me to be their Goldney Hall wedding photographer.

This stunning venue, with its manicured lawns and landscaped grounds, catches you totally by surprise as you enter through its unimposing gate off Lower Clifton Hill. When I first visited, I had no idea that such a spectacular venue existed in Bristol’s busy Clifton village. As a Bristol Wedding Photographer, Goldney Hall is a totally dreamy venue to work at!

The Orangery at Goldney Hall is truly stunning, flooded with natural light from its floor-to-ceiling French doors. Guests can spill out onto the lawns and wander around the beautifully landscaped gardens, finding many treasures, including an ornamental canal, mahogany parlour and even a shell-covered grotto!

Do you photograph lots of weddings here?

Yes! I’ve worked here multiple times, and it is quite possibly one of my favourite Bristol wedding venues.

My style is mostly documentary and informal, I’m keen for my clients to have the most relaxed and enjoyable wedding day as possible! 

I am passionate about capturing real moments of love, joy and emotion. My style is non-performative – I’m all about the real stuff that will genuinely mean more to you in 50 years than anything we could stage.

When is the best time for portraits?
At Goldney Hall you are so blessed to have the beautiful gardens for portraits which we can head out into for a walk for your portraits at any time. I typically take clients out for 10-15 minutes at the end of their drinks reception, whilst guests are beind seated.

If there’s nice golden hour light, we can skip out for 5 minutes in the evening to capture those epic, golden backlit pictures.

Do you offer packages for this venue?

Yes! I love photographing weddings at Goldney Hall and offer micro-wedding packages as well as full-day packages. You can also add on a highlight film, or book me alongside videographer Josh for a full videography package. You can find out more about films here.

Getting Married at Goldney Hall

Goldney Hall is part of Bristol University and is a campus which hosts weddings as well as teaching students. It comprises a beautiful stately home with Georgian and Victorian architecture, a stunning Orangery and a large, manicured garden including a fully restored Rotunda which hosts smaller ceremonies for up to 12 guests.

Goldney Hall has lots of options for wedding ceremonies, including being fully licensed for outdoor weddings and civil partnerships. Within Clifton Hill House there are several options depending on your wedding size, including the Drawing Room and Wills Reception Room.

I absolutely love photographing weddings in and around Bristol and Goldney Hall is a stunning venue that I’d love to work at again.

Goldney Hall Celebrations

A real Wedding Day at Goldney Hall

The orangery was decorated beautifully, with gorgeous floral table decorations being flooded with natural light via the French doors.

Madeleine, Jamie and I enjoyed a little stroll around the beautiful gardens and captured some beautiful portraits of the newly-weds whilst guests were seated to eat. Speeches were delivered between their three-course wedding breakfast and afterwards, guests spilled back out into the gardens to enjoy drinks in the evening sun.

The band set up quickly and it wasn’t long before the first dance commenced. The bride and groom were quickly joined by their wedding guests and the dance floor was soon filled with loved ones, ready to party and celebrate the new Mr and Mrs.
