I was thrilled when Madeleine and Jamie asked me to be their Goldney Hall wedding photographer

This stunning venue, with its manicured lawns and landscaped grounds, catches you totally by surprise as you enter through its unimposing gate off Lower Clifton Hill. I had no idea that such a spectacular venue existing in Bristol’s busy Clifton village.

The Orangery at Goldney Hall is truly stunning, flooded with natural light from its floor to ceiling French doors. Guests can spill out onto the lawns and wonder around the beautifully landscaped gardens, finding many treasures, including an ornamental canal, mahogany parlour and even a shell covered grotto!

This wedding day was such a pleasure to capture, it was a gorgeous sunny day, in a beautiful setting with smiley, happy people – a wedding photographer’s dream!

About the Wedding Day

The orangery was decorated beautifully, with gorgeous floral table decorations being flooded with natural light via the French doors.

Madeleine, Jamie and I enjoyed a little stroll around the beautiful gardens and captured some beautiful portraits of the newly-weds whilst guests were seated to eat. Speeches were delivered between their three-course wedding breakfast and afterwards, guests spilled back out into the gardens to enjoy drinks in the evening sun.

The band set up quickly and it wasn’t long before the first dance commenced. The bride and groom were quickly joined by their wedding guests and the dance floor was soon filled with loved ones, ready to party and celebrate the new Mr and Mrs.

Getting Married at Goldney Hall

Goldney Hall is part of Bristol University and is a campus which hosts weddings as well as teaching students. It comprises a beautiful stately home with Georgian and Victorian architecture, a stunning Orangery and a large, manicured garden including a fully restored Rotunda which hosts smaller ceremonies for up to 12 guests.

Goldney Hall has lots of options for wedding ceremonies, including being fully licensed for outdoor weddings and civil partnerships. Within Clifton Hill House there are several options depending on your wedding size, including the Drawing Room and Wills Reception Room.

I absolutely love photographing weddings in and around Bristol and Goldney Hall is a stunning venue that I’d love to work at again.
