Kingsley and Emily’s Wedding
Huntsham Court Wedding Photography
Kingsley are Emily are wildly in love, it’s plain to see. Their wedding, at Huntsham Court last October was one of the most miserable days (weather wise!) of the year, but it just didn’t matter – not one bit! Their wedding was one of the most joyful, fun and love-filled days, truly a privilege to witness such a special couple get wed.
Emily is totally a bride after my own heart, she is super organised and had a really clear vision for the day. The scene was set by beautiful wedding stationary by Storm Press, Exeter, the colours of which matched perfectly with the wedding colour scheme – a credit to Emily and Kingsley’ impeccable attention to detail.
Preparations
Emily and her lovely bridesmaids got ready in the beautiful bridal suite at Huntsham court. The guests had all arrived the evening prior so it was a pretty relaxed morning, with everyone watching England play in the rugby world cup in the bar on my arrival! There’s copious amounts of space in the bridal suite, the bathroom of which is particularly striking, with two huge free standing bathtubs (which feature heavily later on!).
Emily’s beautiful hair was created by the ultra-cool Kyrelle of Devon Wedding Hair. What makes Kyrelle that extra bit awesome is that she uses eco-friendly, vegan hair products too! So, you should definitely check her out.
Sophie (from Flowers by Sophie Millington) arrived mid-way through the morning preparations with the most insane wedding bouquet for our beautiful bride. The colours were the right amount of pop for a grey autumnal day but also avoided look too festive.
The boys got ready in the room just next door, which meant I was able to pop through to get a few shots of the guys struggling with their bowties and buttonholes before heading back to Emily to capture her dad’s reaction as he saw her for the first time in her bridal gown from Champagne and Charlotte.
The Ceremony
Emily and her Dad descended the enormous Huntsham staircase before heading up the aisle in the Great Hall to meet her husband to be. After a touching ceremony, we all headed outside to brave the miserable autumn weather to watch Kingsley sabre a bottle of champagne. I particularly love Emily’s face in these shots!
The Reception
We darted in and out for group photographs before heading off for some outdoor portraits in a break between showers. I was so impressed by Emily and Kingsley’s attitude towards being outside in the miserable weather, and it really paid off as despite the gloominess, we got some beautiful shots of the two of them, with a dash of autumn orange too!
Being real foodies, the food was particularly important to these two, and a wonderful wedding breakfast was put on by The Rusty Pig catering company unbeatable grub for a real autumnal feast!
The Party
After a few hilarious speeches my favourite moment of the day happened! My second photographer Sue and I were summoned upstairs to take some shots of the entire bridal party in the bathtubs! All of us were in absolute hysterics and being my last wedding of the year, this really was ending on a high!
